How it works

One file, as many steps as you need.

  1. Pick a tool and add your PDF, or photos for Images to PDF.
  2. Run it. Press Keep working on this to pass the result to the next tool.
  3. Download the finished file. Nothing was ever uploaded.

Questions

Good to know

What can RiverPDF do?

Ten things: convert a PDF to Word, OpenDocument, RTF, HTML, Markdown or text; convert pages to JPG, PNG, WebP, TIFF or BMP; merge PDFs; split a PDF; reorder, delete or reverse pages; rotate pages; add page numbers; add a watermark; remove hidden metadata; and turn photos or scans into a PDF.

How do I do several steps in a row?

Run a step, then press Keep working on this next to the result. That PDF becomes the file for the next step, so you can, for example, rotate a scan, add page numbers, stamp CONFIDENTIAL and remove the metadata, then download only the final file.

Do I have to add my files again when I switch tool?

No. The PDFs and images you add stay loaded while this page is open. Tools that work on one file at a time use the first one; Merge PDF uses them all.

What does it cost?

The same as the separate tools. Merging, splitting, reordering, rotating, numbering, watermarking, cleaning and images to PDF are free for one file at a time (five for merging and images to PDF), up to 50 MB a file; RiverDIY Pro (US$19, paid once) adds batches, big files and ZIP downloads. PDF to document and PDF to image show page 1 free, then cost US$2 a page, never more than US$10 per 100 pages.

Is there a RiverPDF app?

Yes. The RiverPDF app costs US$30 once and works on up to 3 devices, in any mix of Windows, Mac, Android, iPhone and iPad: buy it on one platform and use it on the others. It includes unlimited conversions with no per-page charges, and every version released in the next 2 years is free and installs itself. When all 3 devices are used, release one you no longer use (up to 2 a year) on the app's Licence page or at riverthought.com/licences.

Are my files uploaded?

No. Your browser opens, changes and saves the files on your own device. After the page has loaded you can switch off Wi-Fi and it still works. Only for a paid conversion do we receive the file's fingerprint (a SHA-256 code) and its page count, never the file.
